The IntegralPTSD™ Framework
A holistic approach to trauma healing that honors the interconnected dimensions of mind, body, emotions, relationships, meaning, and spirit.
"Post-traumatic growth isn't about returning to who you were. It's about becoming more whole than you were before."
Why IntegralPTSD™?
Trauma doesn't affect just one part of us. It's not only a mental health issue, a body issue, or a spiritual crisis. Trauma is a whole-person experience that touches every dimension of being.
Traditional approaches to trauma recovery often focus narrowly on symptom reduction—managing anxiety, addressing negative thoughts, or modulating nervous system activation. These are important. But they're not enough.
IntegralPTSD™ was created to offer a more complete framework—one that honors the full complexity of human experience and guides you toward integration, resilience, and post-traumatic growth.
Rather than asking "How do I get rid of my symptoms?" IntegralPTSD™ asks: "How do I become whole? How do I integrate this experience? How can I grow through this?"
The Six Dimensions of Wholeness
Mind
Thoughts, Beliefs, and Cognition
Trauma shapes how we think about ourselves, others, and the world. The Mind dimension addresses negative beliefs, rumination, intrusive thoughts, and distorted narratives that result from trauma. Through trauma-informed coaching, we help you examine and gently shift thought patterns, develop cognitive flexibility, and rebuild a coherent sense of self.
Body
Nervous System and Somatic Awareness
Trauma is stored in the body. The nervous system becomes dysregulated, leading to hypervigilance, freeze responses, chronic tension, or emotional numbness. We use somatic awareness techniques, breathwork, grounding exercises, and nervous system regulation tools to help you restore safety in your body and develop resilience.
Emotions
Emotional Regulation and Resilience
Trauma can overwhelm our capacity to feel, express, and regulate emotions. You might experience emotional flooding, numbness, rage, or shame. We help you develop emotional awareness, build distress tolerance, practice self-compassion, and cultivate emotional resilience so you can feel without being flooded.
Relationships
Attachment, Boundaries, and Connection
Trauma affects how we relate to others. Attachment wounds, trust issues, difficulty with boundaries, and relational patterns developed for survival need attention. We help you heal attachment wounds, develop secure relationships, communicate effectively, and build genuine connection.
Meaning
Identity, Purpose, and Life Narrative
Trauma disrupts our sense of identity and purpose. "Why did this happen to me?" can feel unanswerable. We help you integrate your trauma story into a larger life narrative, reclaim agency, explore meaning-making, and rebuild a sense of coherent identity that includes—but is not defined by—your trauma.
Spirit
Inner Wisdom and Existential Growth
Trauma often sparks spiritual questions and can lead to spiritual awakening. The Spirit dimension honors existential questions, reconnection with inner wisdom, spiritual meaning-making, and the possibility of transcendence through integration. Whether you have a faith tradition or not, we hold space for your spiritual journey.
Integration in Action
These six dimensions don't work in isolation—they're deeply interconnected. Healing in one dimension creates ripples across all the others.
